Update - 10:30 p.m.: Well it has been decided that we will proceed with induction and see how Julie and the baby respond. This will be our first vaginal delivery with an epidural and pitocin. They will be monitoring Julie and the baby very closely to ensure there are no problems or distress, and if the is they should be able to act quickly. Julie was at 1.5cm the last time they checked so we don't know if this will be a short or long process.
Delivering this way is sad for Julie and I as we have loved the natural labor and deliveries we have experienced with David, Jonthan, Zeke, and Selah (Caroline was a c-section as she was both breech and high risk.) Now with the meds Julie has little to no personal awareness during the labor, and my role as her partner through the contractions has also been removed as well. We understand the medical reasons for this direction but there is still a sense of loss in not being able to labor naturally. It has been an honor to partner with Julie during our previous adventures in delivery, but this delivery has been a different adventure. We do ask for you prayers for her and the baby considering the bleeding, placental abruption, distress the baby has experienced already, and all the other factors out of our control. Thanks for your continued prayers, emails, texts, and support.
Update - 8:30 p.m.: Julie has been moved to a larger room for delivery and as she was moved her contractions along with her leaking and bleeding has slowed down as well. For now we are in a holding patter as they observe further and determine if in fact this is the night. The waiting as you can imagine is the annoying and frustrating part. I will say that after being here 32 days, it felt like moving Julie from one apartment to another.
Update - 6:30 p.m.: Julie has been bleeding more and more the last couple of days. Although this is not new, the baby is not responding as well and the doctors are more concerned than they have been. I am about to head up to Mercy and they very likely could go ahead with a c-section this evening. I don't know for sure but that is where things are headed currently. Please be praying for all of us. We have friends helping out here at home in our absence and are excited to meet the newest Zilkie should they make that determination.
I will try to post more updates as the evening develops...

praying praying praying and then praying some more. We all love you guys.
Lifting you up right now. Jesus, please make your presence unmistakably known and felt by my dear friends tonight. We entrust them and their little one into your care and I pray that you would draw them even more close to you and each other though this. Please keep Julie and baby safe and healthy through the delivery and bless the hands of those loving professionals caring for them tonight. Thank you for being our Savior and Shepherd, Lord. I pray these things in your name - amen.
It's daytime for us so I am praying and checking constantly for updates. I am still SO amazed at how great out God is to allow you to guys to keep this baby incubating for so long. Praying for His hand of protection on Julie and baby. Praying for healthy developed lungs in this precious life! Praying for minimal NICU time, for emotional strength for you guys and for good breast feeding (preemies can be tough in this area). Lots and LOTS of kangaroo care for Julie and baby will greatly improve NICU time!!! It cut Midge's time in the NICU in half and helped w/ bonding too! Okay, enough. Love you guys. Can't believe it's been so long since I've seen you. Hopefully next time we are back in the states we can drop in on your gang and meet this sweet little life!
Love,
Katy
