Throughout his young life, I had been having a repeated
conversations with Zeke about God, sin, salvation, Jesus dying on the cross for
our sins, and how one can become a follower of Jesus. We had many good conversations, if only
brief, but he always said “I will accept Jesus later, when I am 5 or 6 or some time
later.”

14 Years Ago Tonight...
...the love of my life:
Anyway, we just got back from a wonderful dinner, some time reflecting, and are realizing just how seminal a day February 13th, 1999 was in both of our lives. Here we are 14 years later, we have a house full of children, and this woman was just a shadow of who she has become since that time. I am a BLESSED man!
What a fun, adventurous and exciting 14 years it has been!
- who I had just met earlier that evening
- outside the ladies room at a swing dance in Pontiac, Michigan...

Back After A Little Break
Well after several recent conversations with people who have wondered where the blog went, I am back. Thanks to those of you who care, read, and even encourage me to get back into posting more regularly. As you all know we had quite a summer with Julie in the hospital and Elijah being born a preemie. After one of my last posts, I just felt a little tired. I am not one of the the super-bloggers who posts every day or every other day, but I sense it is time to get back at it.
A quick update on the Zilkies...
Elijah recently celebrated 6 months and we are thrilled with the little guy. He smiles all the time. In fact I tell him that he could charge for his smiles as they are mesmerizing, except that he gives them away too freely and thus diminishes the value of them...simple economics with supply and demand. He has yet to grasp that idea fully and just keeps on giving them away.
